Acrylic

Lower initial tack of pure acrylic adhesives allows for repositioning for optimum effectiveness. Medical adhesive applications are temporary in nature, from an hour to days, so a permanent bond is not required. Ease of removal is also an important consideration.

Adhesives with additives for medical applications

Our expertise in adhesive formulation enables us to develop bespoke skin-friendly adhesives, custom-tailored to include supporting additives. The benefits of our adhesives are augmented with additional features such as moisturizers, antimicrobials and even pain relievers.

Amorphous hydrogel for wound management

MDR-approved hydrogel is a sterile, colorless and clear primary dressing made from water, a modified starch polymer, glycerol and preservatives. It provides a moist environment at the wound surface and assists in the debridement and removal of devitalized material.

High adhesive rubber for medical device applications

Rubber-based adhesives generally offer higher adhesion and shear properties than acrylic or silicone adhesives. Based on synthetic rubbers, they provide good to excellent initial tack and adhesion particularly in skin contact applications.

Hydrocolloid adhesives

Synthetic rubber-based, pressure-sensitive adhesives with absorbent particles mixed in allow the adhesive to absorb fluid. When saturation occurs, it forms a soft, moist gel, making the dressing conducive to moist wound healing and atraumatic removal.

Silicone adhesives

Silicone adhesives are used for specialty applications such as high oxygen/gas permeability, low pain upon removal, and adhesion to and removal from sensitive skin.

Silicone gel adhesives for medical skin contact applications

Skin barriers

Skin barriers protect the periwound or peristomal skin from insults like wound exudate and waste. Barrier film helps protect intact or damaged skin from irritation that may arise from fluid draining from wounds, adhesives and frictional forces.
